All About Dollar General Mass Shooting Victim Angela Carr

Angela Carr (age: 52, February 1971-  August 26, 2023) was a Florida woman who died on August 26, 2023, during the Jacksonville Dollar General Store Shooting.

Reportedly, Angela was an Uber driver, dropping someone in the parking area when a 21-year-old guy named Ryan Palmeter fired bullets at her car.

Other than Michelle, two more people, including Jerrald Gallion and Anolt Joseph Laguerre Jr., died. According to the investigators, it was a racially motivated mass shooting, and the perpetrator could have taken more lives if people inside the store had not exited the premises from the backdoor.

Eleven minutes after the beginning of the massacre, Police arrived at the scene and entered the store; before officers could reach Ryan, he shot himself and died.

Dollar General Store Mass Shooting

The mass shooting at Jacksonville’s Dollar General store began at 1:08 p.m. Ryan, the shooter’s first target, was Angela Carr. He fired 11 rounds at Angela’s car; the ShotSpotter detected gunshots and soon alerted the local Police. After targeting Angela, Palmeter entered the Dollar General store and killed another victim.

CCTV footage shows he wore a face mask, a tactical vest, and ear protection. Many people exited the store through the exit, but Palmeter chased them going the same door. At 1:09 p.m., Ryan reentered the store through the back door and tried to shoot a CCTV camera but missed.

At that time, the Police were alerted of the incident, and cops were on their way. A few minutes later, two more customers came to the store, unaware of the shooting.

Palmeter killed one of them and then chased the other person, a woman, around the store. He fired shots at her but missed. Thankfully, the lady was able to exit through the rear door.

Eight minutes after the beginning of the massacre, Ryan sent a text message to his dad in which he told him to make his way into his room to where he would find his will with a suicide note. Upon reaching the scene, Police heard the sound of a gunshot; it was Palmeter who had shot himself.

Palmeter Also Visited Edward Waters University

After the Jacksonville shooting, investigators made shocking revelations. According to the Police, before coming to the Dollar General Store, Palmeter also visited Edward Waters University.

It is believed that he visited EWU with the same intentions but had to leave the campus after he failed to provide an ID and security did not allow him entry. Security officers found Ryan’s behavior suspicious and flagged down a police officer, who then initiated the BOLO alert.
