Fae Johnstone (born on July 31, 1995) is a 27-year-old Canadian activist and Executive Director at Wisdom2Action who campaigns for the betterment of the LGBTQ+ community. According to Canada Helps, Fae also faced transphobic people, which is why she decided to work to raise her voice for 2SLGBTQ+ community members.
In March 2023, Johnstone became the center of a controversy after she collaborated with Hershey’s. As per Inquirer, on International Women’s Day, the chocolate giant printed photos of 5 influential Canadian women on their chocolate wrappers to honor the contribution of females.
Each collaborator received $10,000 for their organizations; over that, $30,000 were donated to a group called Girl Up.
People got outraged as soon as the news came out that the chocolate company printed Faelynn’s photo. Soon “#BoycottHersheys” started trending on Twitter, and people of different communities expressed how upset they got after Hershey’s tried labeling Fae as a female.
On the one hand, where some condemned Fae, there were also some who supported her. Famous actress Erin Marie Hogan supported the Canadian activist by writing, “She is a Woman.”

Currently, Fae is associated with Lisa Lachance’s organization Wisdom2Action as Executive Director.
She is mainly focusing on creating a society where all the members of the LGBTQ+ will receive equal chances for quality education and health services. Over the years, she has trained thousands of educators around the world for her mission.
In 2017 she conducted Sl*ut Walk, a campaign in Ottawa to raise the issue of rape culture and victim blaming. She also has a YouTube channel where she uploads videos to spread awareness about LGBTQ+ oppression and required attention towards mental health.
