Highsmith’s exceptional skills and hard work did not go unnoticed, and on January 8, 2019, he was signed a contract by the 76ers. This milestone marked the beginning of an exciting chapter in his professional career.

As part of the contract, Haywood split his time between the Blue Coats 76ers, showcasing his abilities in both arenas. Highsmith made his NBA debut the same day he signed the contract, leaving a lasting impression. In a thrilling game against the Washington Wizards, he contributed three points in just five minutes of play, assisting the 76ers in securing a memorable 132-115 victory.
