Issam Abdallah (age 37, September 24, 1986 – October 13, 2023) was a skilled reuters videographer. His life was cut short in a missile attack in Lebanon, a terrible result of the ongoing fight between Israel and Hezbollah Armed Strength.

On October 13, 2023, Issam Abdallah, a Reuters video journalist lost his life, and six other reporters got hurt. They were in a place hit by missiles from Israel. This information came from two colleagues who talked to the injured journalists in the hospital, and someone who saw it happen. Charbel Francis, who works as a cameraman for Al Araby TV, explained what he saw.

He was filming Israeli missiles being fired on a hill, not far from the group of journalists. All of a sudden, a missile hit their area. The fighting was happening far away, and there was no sign that any danger was coming from where the journalists were. Abdallah was a crucial part of the Reuters team covering what was going on at the border in southern Lebanon.

This sad event also affected journalists from Al Jazeera and Agence France-Presse. According to Al Jazeera, the journalists had gathered in one place in Alma al-Chaab, a village in southern Lebanon, to stay safe when the missile hit.

What makes this even sadder is that just a few hours before this happened, Abdallah shared a photo on his Instagram story from that very place. He even posted a short video with the sound of the shelling in the background.
