According to a witness, Jaronczyk hit a rogue wave, and when the boat steadied, he was nowhere to be found. The witness immediately alerted the authorities, and a search mission was launched to find the young guy. The Coast Guard and police marine and aviation bureau joined forces with Jaronczyk’s family and friends to search for any signs of him.
The rescue mission lasted 34 hours, covering approximately 1,000 nautical miles, but Jaronczyk remained missing. The search was eventually suspended on Monday at 8 p.m. Despite the devastating news, Jaronczyk’s family remains hopeful that he will be found.
His parents, who were in South Carolina when their son disappeared, have returned to New York with heavy hearts. They urge everyone to watch on shore, rocks, and backyards in case Jaronczyk swam there and passed out.
