Regina Ting Chen (born on January 17, 1989) is a 33-years-old actress of Hawaiian origin and is currently settled in Atlanta, Georgia. She has worked in both the TV and film industries. Her career started in 2013 with a film named “Burning Sky.” She had never thought of becoming an actress, but while at the University of Texas, she learned about modeling and acting, after which she decided to learn acting. There are more than 20 shows and movies in which Ting has worked.
In 2022, the actress rose to fame after portraying the role of a prominent character named Ms. Kelly in the Netflix series “Stranger Things” which aired on May 27. There are a couple more projects on which Chen is working, of which one is Jerry Alden Deal’s movie titled “One Hand Clapping,” and the other one is a show named “Florida Man.”
Early Life
On January 17, 1989, Regina Ting Chen (age 33) took birth in Honolulu, Hawaii, at her father and mother’s house. But later, Regina, her 5 siblings, and her parents moved to Austin, Texas, searching for a better living standard. Chen attended a local high school in Austin, and after completing her schooling in 2005, she joined The University of Texas at Austin.
At UT, Regina studied Spanish and business management, but she decided to learn the Meisner technique and joined In The Moment Acting Studio after graduation.
Intending to become a Hollywood star, Ting started her hustle by appearing in TV commercials. She also appeared in a few short movies like “Burning Sky,” “The Song,” “A Remembered Future,” and “The Furies.”
Career
In 2015, other than doing short movies, Ting was also working as a model and worked as a runway model for some prestigious brands. In December 2016, Ting learned about CBS’s DDIP (Diversity Drama Initiative Program) and applied. Luckily she became a finalist out of 11k+ entries. In January 2017, Regina permanently moved to Atlanta, GA, and connected with Atlanta Models and Talent.
From 2017 to 2020, the actress was part of blockbuster productions such as “Frackers,” “Lady and the Tramp,” “American Dynasty,” “Dreamsville,” “Watchmen,” “The Resident,” “Black Lightning” and “Christmas Cupid’s Arrow.”
Chen was also in the hit horror movie “The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It,” which landed in theatres in 2021. But the most significant project that Chen got to work on was “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” where she portrayed the character of a reporter.
