The Voice AU Contestant Xanthe Campbell Biography
17-years-old Xanthe Campbell (born on June 20, 2004) is a high school student from Canberra who stepped into the world of commercial singing after participating in the American singing reality show “The Voice Australian 11.” It had been only 22 seconds since Xanthe started singing Billie Eilish’s Happier Than Ever that Jessica and Rita turned their chairs. The eyes of all the judges were wide open after the Xanthe’s performance.
Keith Urban told Campbell, “So my team is full. Completely full. I would have turned this chair so fast; I would have beaten the girls to it. Your voice is amazing. It’s amazing. I have no doubt you would have had four-chair turns across the board like that.”
Adding to what Keith said, Sebastian told Xanthe, “I also have a full team, and we’re proud of our teams, but I’m just excited that there was room. Thank goodness all of our teams weren’t full, and you missed out.” There was a competition between Rita and Jess, but Xanthe decided to choose Rita Ora as her coach.
After the auditions, the next round where Xanthe had to prove herself was Callbacks. In this round, the team leader divides his team into a group of three or four, and then they are given a theme based on which they have to perform. Rita gave Campbell, Asha Newman, and Bri Dodd to sing Avril Lavinge’s songs.
Xanthe chose “I’m with You,” whereas Asha and Dodd sang “Sk8er Boi” and “Bite Me,” respectively. All the three contestants performed exceptionally well, but the other two contestants got evicted other than Campbell.
