Yale University Professor Yusuke Narita Biography
Yusuke Narita (born in 1985) is a 37-year-old associate professor of economics at Yale University in the United States who argues that the only solution to Japan’s rapidly aging population is for the elderly to commit suicide, aka Seppuku.
This remark caused significant controversy, and he criticized the media for taking it out of context.
Back in 2021, during an online streaming news program, Narita Yusuke stated that the only solution to Japan’s aging and declining birth rate is the mass Seppuku suicide by the elderly. FYI, Narita is known to stir controversies.

In 1985, Yusuke Narita (age 37) was born in Tokyo, Japan. According to sources, in childhood, Narita suffered from a sleep disorder which is why he could not attend middle and elementary school but graduated from Azabu Junior High School.
In 2004 his mother suffered from a subarachnoid hemorrhage, causing several month-long unconsciousness. In 2005, Narita joined the University of Tokyo and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in economics in 2009. He kept studying at UoT and gained a Master’s degree.

Following college, Narita joined Virtual Center for Advanced Studies in Institution (VCASI) as a research assistant. In 2016, he received a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
That same year, he became an Assistant Professor of Economics at Yale University. Meanwhile, he also served at Jinchi Co., Ltd as CEO (Chief Executive Officer). Over the years, he published numerous papers on machine learning, applied math, and artificial intelligence.
His CV shows his association as Affiliate Faculty which reputed institutions like the University of Chicago, RIETI (Research Institute of Economy, Trade and Industry), Columbia University, and The Council on East Asian Studies at Yale University. He was also a visiting assistant professor at Stanford University.
Although Yusuke maintains a radical approach to solving Japan’s birth rate problem, it cannot be ignored that he has done remarkable work in various fields of study.
