Andi Matichak (born June 7, 1994) is a famous face in the horror genre; she never fails to send shivers up your spine; having been in the field for more than a decade, she has certainly perfected the art of performance.

Matichak is a versatile American actress but prefers to be a part of horror and its subgenres; recently, she is seen in one such movie, “Halloween Ends,” this is a continuation of the 2018 film, “Halloween,” but in some way, it is entirely different.

Early Life 

Andi Matichak, who was born on June 7, 1994, in Framingham, Massachusetts, spent most of her youth in the Chicago suburbs, where she attended St. Francis High School.

Not much is known about her family history or her parents, but she is the granddaughter of Rita-Marie Peterson. While she was still in high school, she took up a summer job as a model in Greece; she had no plans of acting till then until she met a talent agent. There, she was encouraged to try her hand at acting; on her return to Chicago, this youngster was determined to take up acting, and she began by attending acting classes.

On graduating a year early from high school, Matichak left a full scholarship for the University of South Florida to move to New York City instead to pursue a career in Modeling and Acting.

Andi Matichak’s career had a slow start, but right after her big break, she shot towards stardom; she stepped into the mainstream media with a guest appearance on the series, “666 Park Avenue,” in 2013, the same year she received a short film as well, “Goldfishing.”

A year later, she was a part of an interesting mockumentary comedy Mini TV series, “Making It: The Series,” it was about five young actors living in NYC; it shows the early stages of their careers, how they are all confused and trying to make it big by hilarious chasing dreams of stardom. Andi loved the concept as she was, in reality, a young actor at the beginning of her career and wanted to show the world the struggle.

She continued to do minor roles in series like “Orange Is the New Black,” being a high-profile project; she did gain recognition, but fame was still a bit far away; she was also seen in an uncredited in her first ever feature film, “Naomi and Ely’s No Kiss List.”

From the year 2016, projects came pouring in; she was seen in back-to-back shot films and series like, “Evol,” “Miles,” “Blue Bloods,” and “The Boonies,” 2018 was her breakthrough year when she auditioned for David Gordon Green’s “Halloween” where she got the chance to play the part of Allyson.

In this horror/thriller it showcases the story of Michael Myers, a masked figure, who has been haunting a town on Hollenween night for the past four decades; this movie has two sequels, “Halloween Kills” and “Halloween Ends,” Matichak plays Allyson in all three, along with, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Judy Greer.

Andi fell in love with the genre so much that she went on to do three more horror films, “Assimilate,” “Son,” where she played the lead role as Laura; it was one of her most acclaimed films, and “Nice to Finally Meet You,” she’s also done a drama & war film “Foxhole.”
